Carroll's Law of Inevitable Collapse: "Just when you think things have become pretty bad, remember: the biggest giants don't stumble; they break from the inside out." - Futurist Jim Carroll

It's 2026. And if we all lived in a rational world, we wouldn't be where we are right now. Geopolitical crisis, war, rising inflation - hey, gas prices! (Good thing I have an electric car!)
Oh, and there are three axioms of my law. I've seen this movie before.
The Illusion of Momentum: External metrics (stock price, GDP, market share) will always look spectacular right up until the moment of failure. Momentum is easily mistaken for health.
The Immune System Paradox: When tampered with, the very mechanisms an institution creates to protect itself (bureaucracy, ethics,, the legal system!) are the exact mechanisms that accelerate the internal rot.
The Nonlinear Drop: Collapse does not happen in a predictable, straight line. The internal fracturing happens silently for years; the visible break happens all at once.
How's that for a dose of pessimism!
Happy Monday!
Futurist Jim Carroll certainly believes that folks are doing their best to make things worst again!
